When u hit the power button, only the battery and power lights come on... No HDD. I tried all these suggestions, and tonight plan on taking the HDD out to see if I have a loose connection... I powered up the computer with battery in but not plugged in with the power cord, let it sit in the recliner, and later when I checked it had shut itself down. Powered it back up and WOW the screen turned on and all was working again. Just want to thank you for writing up your solution and sharing it with others. It is very much appreciated.
